Tokyo – February 10, 2010 – GMO Hosting & Security group member and digital certification services provider, GlobalSign today announces that it will establish a subsidiary in Singapore.GMO Hosting and Security is a GMO Internet Group company.

Until now GlobalSign has serviced the Asia Pacific market directly from its Japan office. GlobalSign expects to see significant growth in the Oceania, India, and South East Asia markets and for this reason has decided to establish GMO GlobalSign Pte. Ltd. in the Republic of Singapore. With subsidiaries already in England and the United States, the new Singapore office will allow GlobalSign to achieve seamless service delivery across English speaking countries as well as reduce operational costs.

Customers include a number of Belgian government agencies and the GlobalSign Certificate Authority operates many prestigious government projects such as eID*(BELPIC). GlobalSign became a member of the GMO Internet Group in 2006 and is expanding sales of government-level security Japan and worldwide.

A citizen ID card. This is the first stage of the e-government project in Belgium. The ID card containing a digital certificate is distributed to all Belgian citizens over the age of 12.
