The internet services market in which we operate continues to generate a great deal of innovation every day. The environment surrounding us will keep changing significantly, driven by the spread of digital IDs, changes in the way people work, shifts in the communications environment, and the digitalization of laws and regulations.
Our business, too, is expanding—from a business centered on the Web and authentication tied to companies since our founding, toward the “things” used in work, such as devices and documents, and the “replacement of such things.” Furthermore, in the near future, we believe our services will evolve further toward services tied to “people,” driven by the spread of My Number, blockchain, NFTs and the like.
By capturing and responding to the accelerating changes in society through the services we provide and by strengthening our organizational foundation, we will achieve sustainable growth. And we will evolve into an indispensable company that reliably connects vital information across every aspect of business, work and daily life.
Strategy
We have positioned the five years from the fiscal year ending December 2022 through the fiscal year ending December 2026 as a period for building the foundation to enhance corporate value over the long term. We position our business domains—the Digital Certificate and eSignature Segment, the Cloud Infrastructure Segment and the Digital Transformation Segment—as our “priority growth field,” “sustainable growth field” and “next growth field,” respectively, and will work to strengthen our services and organizational foundation.
During this period, in the Digital Certificate and eSignature Segment, our priority growth field, we will concentrate management resources and work to invigorate the growth cycle in order to solidify our foundation as an overwhelming No.1 stock-based service and to achieve continuous growth of our global locations.
In the Cloud Infrastructure Segment, our sustainable growth field, we will strengthen our earnings structure as an important source of stable revenue by expanding sales through managed services, expanding profit through stronger relationships with existing customers, and improving operational efficiency, thereby generating steady profit.
In the Digital Transformation Segment, our next growth field, we will aim to expand into new business domains through technology research and development to respond to the next-generation environment, as well as through various initiatives targeting unexplored areas.
Based on the belief that it is the people who support the organization that generate sustainable growth, we will foster a culture that nurtures self-directed talent by promoting work-style reforms and strengthening communication through the renewal of our systems, and we will develop the necessary frameworks and environment.
Furthermore, to enhance corporate value over the long term, initiatives toward realizing a sustainable society, including responses to environmental and social issues, are indispensable. In addition to strengthening the work environment and reinforcing our response to security risks, we will contribute to solving further social issues through the various services we provide—including cloud infrastructure, security such as SSL, and services that support DX.
Through these strategies, we will as a result improve our ordinary profit margin and ROE and increase our global ratio, thereby expanding the scale of our revenue.
Group Management Strategy of the GMO Internet Group
The GMO Internet Group pursues group management based on the “decentralization of authority” and the “creation of group synergies.” That is, to respond to the rapidly changing internet market, each group company selects the fields in which it excels, concentrates management resources in those fields, aims to become No.1, and manages its business autonomously. Within this framework, GMO GlobalSign Holdings K.K. is responsible for the “Security and Hosting business.”
And, building on the sharing and thorough implementation of “GMOism”—the collective term for the corporate motto and precepts of the GMO Internet Group—we grow while creating group synergies.
