Acquisition of the ISMS Cloud Security International Standard "ISO/IEC 27017:2015"

GMO GlobalSign Holdings K.K. (President & CEO and Executive Officer: Aoyama Mitsuru; hereinafter, "GMO GlobalSign HD") acquired, as of October 29, 2022, the certification for "ISO/IEC 27017:2015," the international standard for information security relating to cloud services, for its electronic contract service "GMO Sign."

In addition to technical initiatives, initiatives on the systems side are also important for information security measures.

For these systems, "ISO/IEC 27001" (ISMS), the management system standard for information security as a whole issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), sets out the matters that organizations should address.

Furthermore, there is a dedicated guideline standard for information security controls for cloud services, "ISO/IEC 27017." By reinforcing the "ISO/IEC 27001" initiatives with "ISO/IEC 27017," we can build an information security management framework that addresses the security risks specific to cloud services.

GMO GlobalSign HD acquired the "ISO/IEC 27001" certification in 2006 and, in 2018, acquired the "ISO/IEC 27017" certification for its public cloud service "GMO Cloud ALTUS." Then, on October 29, 2022, GMO GlobalSign HD also acquired the "ISO/IEC 27017" certification for its electronic contract service "GMO Sign" in order to further respond to the requirements demanded of cloud services.

GMO GlobalSign HD will continue to reinforce its information security management framework, promote the reinforcement and operation of its internal management framework including the information security of its cloud services, and strive to provide services that stay close to its customers.
